Experience

Over the last few years, I have worked in a counselling environment in a variety of charitable organisation.

Coventry and Warwickshire Mind. Trainee Counsellor

Barnardos –Solihull. Primary Mental Health Group Co-Facilitator. As a Mental Group Co-Facilitator I worked directly with children and young people thorough assisting staff in facilitating group work. We ran several different groups (Anxiety, Emotional Resilience and Anger Management), up to 10 children/young people in group. I had to opportunity to work in most of the groups and as a volunteer. I assisted the staff with preparing the group work, basic admin and some research work.

Barnardos Coventry& Warwickshire Children’s Rights Service. Independent visitor

Independent visitors are volunteers who are matched with children and young people who are ‘in care’ and who have little or no contact with their families. The Guidance to The Children Act 1989 defines the Independent Visitor’s role as ‘visiting, advising and befriending’. I didn’t take on a parenting role but I was able to provide a sense of modelling life to a young person who is living in a children’s home or who has moved among numerous foster placements.

For the last years I work as a volunteer counsellor in One Recovery – now Humankind- Drug and Alcohol Recovery. Staffordshire. -Tamworth

I'm registered  member of the British Association of Counselling and Psychotherapy (MBACP).

I am on a register that has been accredited by the Professional Standards Authority. National Counselling Society accredited member MNCS (Accred)
